Spurs Coach Should Have Read My March 10 Blog

Two years ago I wrote a Blog about “to foul or not to foul when your team is ahead by 3 points and less then 6 seconds to go in the game after the Spurs lost game 6 of the Championship series against the Miami Heat when they did not foul in the last seconds of the game.

Miami hit a three to tie the game and win in overtime to force a game 7 which the Heat won.

I also wrote a Blog last Week on March 10 entitled “Basketball’s Shakespeare Question To Foul or Not to Foul”.

Coach “Pop” should have learned his lesson two years ago as not fouling cost them an NBA Championship.

Last night I could not believe what I saw, as again the Spurs are up 6 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers at home with 33 seconds to go. Irving hits a three to close it to 3 after the Spurs missed two foul shots.

The Spurs again miss 2 free throws and with 3.7 seconds to go Cleveland calls a time out and of course by NBA rules they get the ball on the sidelines in front court after the time out (Don’t like that rule),

The Spurs opt NOT TO FOUL AGAIN AND GUESS WHAT, YES IT HAPPENED AGAIN IRVING HIT A 3 AT THE BUZZER TO SEND THE GAME INTO OVERTIME WHERE THAT MOMENTUM CARRIED OVER TO A CAVALIER WIN.

When is Pop and the Spurs going understand that they should foul in that situation?

For a smart fundamentally sound basketball team they surely fail miserably in the foul or not to foul lesson.

Hopefully they will not have to lose for a third time if this situation ever arises again.

What’s that old saying. “Third time never fails”?

Or maybe I should send them a copy of my BLOGS on the subject????????????????????????????????????
