Will Popovich Foul this Time Around in NBA Finals????????????

It starts tonite again.

Last year after the Spurs blew a 10 point lead going into the 4th quarter only needing to win this game to become the NBA Champions for the 5th time, they found themselves up 6 with 32 seconds to go in the game with Duncan and Parker on the bench. James missed a three and the Heat got the offensive rebound and the Spurs did not foul and James hit a three to cut the lead to three.

Ginobelli drove to the hoop got fouled (NO CALL) and Miami got the rebound and James again missed a three with 5 seconds left and Bosh got the rebound the second offensive rebound in two trips down the court with Duncan on the bench. The Spurs still up 3 and under 8 seconds left still DID NOT FOUL and Bosh hit Allen in the corner and he hit the game tying three and Miami eventually won in overtime and then defeated the Spurs in game 7.

When asked in the post game interview why the Spurs did not foul to put the pressure on the Heat to make the first shot, miss the second shot get the rebound and then hit a two to tie the game, Coach Popovich simply answered ‘WE DON’T DO THAT’.

WELL I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF GAMES OVER THE YEARS AT ALL LEVELS SINCE THE THREE POINT SHOT CAME IN AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A TEAM TIE THE GAME WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN FOULED NOR HAVE I EVER SEEN TEAM WIN THE GAME WITH A THREE. BUT I HAVE SEEN MANY GAMES TIED UP WITH A LAST SECOND THREE BECAUSE THE DEFENSE DID NOT FOUL.

Remember now this is this year’s NBA Coach of the Year. Being the only reason I watch the NBA is when the Spurs are playing, I hope this year that he learned his lesson by not fouling which cost the Spurs the last years championship.

If this situation happens again this year and the Spurs are up 3 with 5 or less seconds to go they had better FOUL..FOUL..FOUL..FOUL as soon as A Heat player touches the ball.

GO SPURS…………………..
