UMaine Men Lose for 2nd Time to UNH 79-74

The UMaine Men’s Basketball Team has completed its regular season America East Conference schedule with a 79-74 loss at UNH. Maine has won only one road game this year and that was at 1-15 Binghamton, who beat Maine at Orono. Maine finishes at 6-10.

Maine now finishes in 5th place and draws home court advantage to Albany who finished tied with Hartfored at 10-6 and is hosting the Conferemce Tournament.

Hartford has the tie breaker to finish 3rd and Albany is in 4th place and will host UMaine in the 8:00pm game on Saturday, March 9th.

Maine is in the tough bracket along with number one Stonybrook if they beat Albany.

UNH lead at the half 33-30 and outscored Maine 46 to 44 in the second half.

Maine shot 52% from the floor on 28 of 54, while UNH was at 51% on 28 of 52.

Maine was just 3 for 13 from teaser 3 point land for 23% and UNH was 9 for 19 for a very respectable 47%.

Maine was 15 for 19 nfrom the line for 79% and UNH was 14 of 18 for 77%. Maine had 8 assists, UNH had 15.

Maine had 10 turnovers and UNH had 7.

Maine committed 15 personal fouls and UNH commited 16.

Edwards led Maine with 29 and Fraser had 22, while Mtyrick lead UNH with 27 points.
