Good basketball officials always hope that both teams are putting the round sphere into the round twice as big round target.
When the ball is going in then it is a much easier game to ref. There is less frustration on the players and coaches parts.
There are fewer personal fouls, poor decisions and turnovers.
I always tell the teams at the end of the pre-game conference that I have a request. That request is “to put the round sphere into the round target as often as they can, because they will be happy, their coaches will be happy, the fans will be happy and most of the the referees will be the happiest of anybody in the gym”.
Watch what happens in any ga,me when the balkl is going in on a regular basis from the floor. All of a sudden there are less whistles.
