Lawrence over Brunswick
EL over Messalonskee

Possible upset winners Lewiston and Messalonskee

Class B is the toughest to pick even with Oceanside not in

Medomak over Camden Hills
Waterville over PI
Caribou over FA
MDI over Winslow

Upset Waterville over PI

Class C Picks Tough top 5 teams

Penquis over Stearns
Houlton Bucksport
Calais over Sumner
Lee over Dexter

No upsets in C

Class D Picks toughest after B to pick

Jonesport Beal over Easton
Deer Isle over Hodgdon
Washburn over Bangor Christian
CA over Katahdin

Possible upset Hodgdon over DI

If Deer Isle gets by Hodgdon in the quarters which is the toughest opening round opponent for any class D team, then they could win the Eastern Maine D Tourney and upset JB in the semi’s. They lost to JB twice the first game at JB in overtime and in the second matchup at home was trailing 53-50 when Sam Grindle reinjured his ankle and smartly DI opted to remove him from the game with 5:31 to go and eventually lost by 10 64-54.

Remove Beal and Grindle from each team and DI is the stronger of the remaining players, but Hodgdon could be the darkhorse as they lead Houlton twice before losing both games during the regular season.

So the Hodgon-DI matchup could be the key to the entire D tourney.
