Record Breakers Beal and Worcester Could Meet in Class D Tourney

It would be a great offensive matchup. Garet Beal of Jonesport-Beals, who just broke the individual game scoring record of 54 points when he scored 55 points last night in an easy win over Woodland 100-47 and Mitch Worvcester of Washburn who just recently went over the 2000 point mark for his career at Washburn could possibly meet in the coming Eastern Maine Class D Tourney.

Two players from different counties in Maine who have always produced outstanding teams and players over the years in D Tournaments.

One thing is for sure it could be a great shoot out. Jonesport-Beal which holds the record for most high school state championships in basketball with 17 will be gunning for its 18th this byear and they have to be the heavy favorites with the UMaine Bound Senior Beal the best all-around player in the state this year.

He should be a sure fire for Mr. Basketball baring anything unforeseen happening.

With this being the last Hurrah for the current Bangor Auditorium, what a great way to wrap up the final tourney for the Old Barn on Dunton Street after 58 years of serving as the “Mecca” of Eastern Maine High school Basketball.

The tourney is just 3 weeks away.
