Albany Downs Maine Men 76-63 at Albany

The Albany Great Danes lead Maine 31-29 at half-time, but behind the hot shooting of senior guard Mike Black pulled away in the second half for a 76-63 victory.

Maine falls to .500 in the conference play at 2-2 and Albany moves to 3 and 1 in conference play.

Maine shot 41% from the floor on 25 of 61, was 5 for 20 from behind the arc for 25% and were 8 of 14 from the line for 57%.

Albany was 23 for 53 for 43%, 7 for 16 from 3 point land for 43% and was 23-30 from the line 76%.

Maine lost this game by committing over 20 fouls again with 21 to the Danes dozen. Maine committed 14 turnovers to Albany’s 11 and Maine had just 6 assists to Albany’s 11.

Albany went 2-3 zone against the Black Bears in the second half and Maine just could not find the long distance range.

Frasier lead Maine with 16, Pollard had 15 and Edwards was held to just 13.

Senior guard Mike Black playing in his 100th career game for Albany had a career high 28 points on 9 of 17 from the floor, 3-5 for 3 pointers and was 7-8 from the line.
