Maine Men Drop lst AE Conference Game to Hartford 68-61

Maine Mens Basketball team lost their first conference game of the season against Hartford today in a 12noon game at Hartford. Maine trailed 34-27 at the half and then played Hartford even 34-34 in the second half.

In a defense and foul oriented game which saw Maine only get off 47 total field goal attempts while making 18 for 38% and Hartford only got off 46 field goal attempts but made 24 for 52%.

Maine shot 5 for 14 from 3 point land for 36% and Hartford was 10-21 for 47%.

Maine went to the line 29 times and made 20 for 69% and Hartford was 10-15 for 62%.

Maine had 10 assists to Hartfords 18. Maine committed 15 turnovers to Hartfords 14. Each team commiteed 20 fouls. Maine had 22 and Hartford 20.

Maine had committed just 7 and 12 fouls in their last two games which were wins, but webt back up to 22 this game.

Edwards and Mesgna lead the Bears with 17 points apiece while
Frasier chipped in with 16. For Hartford Nnakamma had 23, Morell 16 and Cooper 13.

Maoine drops to 2-1 in the conference and 6-9 overall and Hartford moves into first place in the conference at 3-0 and 10-6 overall.

Hartford is in first all by themselves at 3-0, Stonybrook is 2nd at 1-0 and Maine is tied with Albany and Vermont at 2-1 for third place.

Maine is at Albany on Saturday.
