12/30/12-1-5/13 Player Tip of the Week

When shooting the ball on any shot, a player should not aim for just over the front of the rim or just in front of the back of the rim.

Because if you are an inch short or an inch to strong you will usually hit the rim.

WHAT YOU SHOULD AIM FOR IS THE EXCT DEAD CENTER OF THE BASKET.

If you were shooting a bow and arrow at a target, to try to hit the bullseye you would aim for the bullseye. And where is the bulleye, it is right in the middle of the target.

You wouldn’t aim for the top or bottom of the target, but that is what you are doing if you aim for the front of the back of the rim.

Aiming for the front or the back of the rim leaves you very little margin of error because if you are too short or to long by an inch por less then you will usually hit the rim.

If you aim for the middle this gives you much more margin of error eben if you are off by more than an inch or less.

Try aiming for the middle of the basket, it really works.
