Maine Men Win 2nd Straight with 76-71 Win over Quinnipac

The Maine Men moved their record to 5-8 and are on a two game roll as they look forward to Wednesdays’ conference opener at home against BU.

The Black Bears were tied at 41-41 at the half but outscored Quinnipac 35 to 30 to score a 76-71 victory.

Maine shot very well from the floor , but poor foul shooting which had been their strongest suit going into the game, kept Quinnipac in the game. Maine was 13 for 25 for just 52% while shooting a very healthy 5 for 11 from the 3 point line for 45.5% and was a very good 29-63 from the floor for 54.7%

Maine had only 12 turnovers, had 17 assists and committed 18 fouls.

Quinnipac shot just 26 for 71 from the floor for 36.6%, 33 for 17 from 3 point land for a measily 17.6%, but 16-22 from the line for 76.7% which kept them in the game along with Maine’s poor foul shooting.

Quinnipac had 10 turnovers, 13 assists and committed 17 personal fouls.

Edwards lead the bears with 26 points while Fraser had 14 and Mesghna chipped in with 13.

Maimne with winning two straight over Florida Golf Coast and now Quinnipac should have some momentum going into the AE Conference Opener this coming Wednesday at Alfond Arena.
