11/18-11/24 Player Tip of the Week

The first thing a player should do when they receive a pass anywhere on the court with their back to their basket is to turn their head first and look up court.

Then they should pivot and look up court again and then last dribble.

Many players catch the ball and the first thing that they do is put the ball down on the floor with a dribble. When a player is dribbling they cannot pass thre ball nor can they shoot the ball.

I call this turning of the head “FACING”
Even if the player receives the pass at the 3 point side facing the passer who is passed him the ball from the outside of the 3 point line, the player should turn his/her head first and then FACE.

The last thing they should do is dribble.
