AAU and YBOA Basketball States Are Over, But MAC, MBR, Maine Hoops and MB Nation are Still Going Full Speed Ahead

With the state AAU Championships (Under MB Nation) and YBOA (Bill Libby) already being held, the groups listed in the title above are all well underway. Most action occurs on weekends and are scheduled all over the state.

There will be some action every Saturday and Sunday from now until the middle of June and then summer high school basketball starts and AAU Teams that qualify will get ready for national tournaments in June and July.

Teams usually practice once or twice a week during the week.

All grade levels from 3 thru 12 could be in action.

The basketball especially at the middle school and high school level in age and grade groups are very entertaining as the best players are on the top teams and when they meet there is as much rivalry between organizations listed above as there is in some high school rivalries. if not more becasuse of the competiveness and the ablility of these all-star type teams.

Thes games are played as far north as Old Town as far south as Saco as Far west as Livermore Falls and many places in between including Bangor, Waterville, Winslow, Augusta, Gardner, Lewiston, Bonny Eagle (Buxton) and more that I have not listed.

So if you would like to see some of the best payers in the state squaring off against each other, then check out the schedules for these 4 groups and you will not be disappointed in the level, intensity and caliber of play.

Tom Nolette runs MBR (Maine Basketball Report), Mark LeClerc Runs MAC (Maine Athletic Club, Woody runs MB Nation (Maine Basketball Nation) and Maine Hoops in Saco is run by Lenny Holmes.

All groups are in action every weekend somewhere in Maine until the end of May and some run thru the middle of June.
