No. 2 Vermont Knocks off No. 1 Stonybrook 51-43 To Win America East Conference Tournament and a Date at the Big Dance

Vermont is going to the big dance again and Stonybrook should get an invite to the NIT in New York. Rememer this is the 31st ranked conference out of 32 in D1 in the Country.

In another low scoring defensive driven game like their 50-40 quarter-final win over 7th seeded Maine last weekend, Vermont reached down to hold Stonybrook at Stonybrook to just 29.3% shooting percentage from the floor on 17 for 58. They held Stonybrook to just 4-19 from the 3 point line for just 21.1%.

Well, they redeemed themselves today as they took down number 1 Stonybrook. Both had won on their home vourt this season, but Vermont turned the trick and won at Stonybrook. They will probably go in a 16th seeed and draw a 1 seed in the opening round of the big dance.
