Congratulations to Hampden’s Christian McCue for being Named this years Mr. Basketball

6’2″ point guard Christian McCue who lead the Hampden Broncos to the State Class A Runnersup last Saturday was named the 2012 Mr. Basketball at the MABC/McDonalds Awards banquet at Husson University. He edged out Cole Libby of Falmouth and Cam Sennick of Mt. Blue the other two finalists.

McCue who had been a shooting guard last season, moved over to point guard this season, developed into an excellent team leader and sacrificed his scoring abilities to make his teammates better from the point guard position. He still led his team in scoring averaging 17.2 points per game but set his teammayes up with dribble penetration and by passing to them as he drew double teaming, box and ones and diamonds and ones during the season. Hampden ended up with their schools best record ever finishing 20-2

Again congratulations Christian an award well earned and well deserved.
