Is it Really a Player Control Foul?

Over the years I have often wondered why when an offensive player with the ball runs over, into/thru a defender the foul is called aplayer control foul?

If the player was really in control of themselves then they wouldn’t be running into/over/thru a defender.

This must mean that the player was out of control to do this.

SO WHY NOT CALL IT WHAT IT REALLY IS “A PLAYER OUT OF CONTROL FOUL”?

Maybe that would make players to think more about being in control and not out of control?
