Nokomis lead Gardner 38-34 but Gardner managed to tie the game up at 47-47 to send the game into overtime. Gardner held Nokomis to just 9 points after trailing by 4 and ran 22-9 streak and held Nokomis Scoreless in the overtime.
Alonzo Manter and Matt Hall paced the comback win with 4 points in regulation to get the game timed and then svcored 4 each in the overtime.
Aaron Tolman lead the Tigers with 14 and Hall had 12 and Connor 11. While
Andrew Cartwright paced Nokomis with 15 points.
Another big difference in the win was that Garner was just 1-2 from 3 point land while Nokomis went 5 for 20. Also Gardner was 13 for 25 from the line and Nokomis was just 6 for 8
This was the second consecutive very tough loss for Carl Parker’s Nokomis Team as last year they lost a very tough game to Ellsworth.
Nokomis who lost Braley probably the best returning high school player in Maine went to Prep School for his Senior Year. Nokomis had a very good season and contribute that to an excellent coaching job by Coach Parker.
With just a little luck they could be in the semi-finals. However, take nothing away from the Tigers as they scored when it counted in the last 8 minutes of the game.
