As the UMaine Mens team struggles in the AE Conference with 5 straight losses, Husson College in the middle of the pack in the NAC, there is a team leading not only the Small Yankee Conference but is curently ranked  number 1 team in the country in their Division of Small Colleges.

The Eastern Maine Community College Mens Basketball Team  under the coaching of Steve Rich have raced off with a 14-1 record without very little fanfare. Coach Rich has been at the helm for the 3 seasons and has developed his program into a powerhouse. With a mixture of Maine and out of state players he has developed a very well balanced team and an exciting team to watch..

EMCC is a 2 or 4 year institution and players use up their college eligibility like they do when playing at junior colleges if they should transfer to another college.

If you haven’t seen them in action, take a trip to the beatiful campus and enjoy a game in the newly renovated Johnson Gymnasium.

It will be worth the trip and you will see some very exciting small college basketball right here in the Queen City. The Campus is off the Hogan Road and easy to get to with excellent parking near the gym..Just take the Interstate and get off the Hogan Road Exit and the campus is on the right at the third light coming from the north and the second light coming from the south.
