Rule of the Week
Since we were talking about rebounding on the the Tips of the Week we should probably discuss the rule on blocking out.
A defender cannot make contact with the player he is guarding on a rebound. He cannot push backwards or hold the rebounder with any part of his body, that is a foul as it gains a definte advantage to the defensive player.
Likewise the offensive player cannot make contact with the defensive player by pushing or holding him.
There can be incidental contact but no player should gain an advantage or be put at a disadvantage by the contact
